Lucy-Lee Reed, Resident, Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads

In the early 90s I was asked to serve on the board of the Fairfax, the Army CCRC at Fort Belvoir.  After my 6 year term I was completely convinced that a CCRC was the way to go for us.

With my husband, Jean, I took home communions for years to parishioners at GHA and GHBC and I attended and then helped to put on a number of fundraising training sessions for the Diocese of Virginia at GHBC.  Being both an Episcopal Home and nearly in Arlington we decided it was the place for us!

It took us a number of years to get organized and then to get an apartment, but we have been in our new home now for over two years, and we are both deeply involved in life here as well as with our church in Alexandria and family in Arlington.   We have definitely reimagined what our aging is to be like!!
