For the majority of my social work career, I have worked in healthcare. It wasn’t until my own personal experience with Hospice care that opened my heart to providing compassionate and dignified care to people throughout their end of life journey. Prior to coming to Goodwin House in 2015, I was working as a Hospice Social Worker for a community-based Hospice agency. As soon as I walked through the doors of Goodwin House and met the Goodwin House Palliative Care and Hospice Team I knew that I belonged here. It is truly an honor to work with such professional, caring and kind people. It is a privilege to work with residents and community patients “beyond the walls” to provide support to both them and their families during such a vulnerable time in their lives. The resident’s we serve have lived such rich and dynamic lives, I learn from them every day.
